We’ve got a Spring in our step just in time for Easter!
Blossom, the smell of freshly cut grass, butterflies emerging and sunnier skies are just a few of our favourite things about Spring!
Time for wildlife to reappear and bustle, flutter and scurry around in the warmer air. From rabbits to woodpeckers, hedgehogs to butterflies there are all sorts of animals to be discovered. A fun way we’ve found to keep track of the wildlife you see is with our colour and learn nature & wildlife tablecloth! You can use the tablecloth as a guide and colour in the flora, fauna and wildlife when you spot it out and about. This makes for a really fun and educational activity and game for children – great for keeping little minds and hands busy!
If you’ve got butterfly spotting in mind, don’t forget the Butterfly Conservation have a great page for identifying moths and butterflies. And a lot of this wildlife can be found close to home! There are always creatures to be seen – whether they’re teeny ladybirds or more easily spotted like bunnies. You can also read our latest blog with tips on how to encourage and conserve the wildlife you find in your garden or local park.

Thinking of fun things to do this Easter? We’ve come up with some ideas for Easter egg hunts, gift alternatives and crafty activities that we hope you’ll find helpful! For your Easter egg hunt this year, why not try a scavenger hunt? Write clever clues that will lead your little ones to where their Easter egg or gift is hidden. We found some great examples for clues from the blog Happiness is Homemade.
If you’ve got lots of egg-hunters joining you this year, why not try an Easter egg hunt relay race? Just like a normal relay race but involving eggs (or non-chocolatey alternatives)! Or how about a crack the code activity or quiz questions – kids have to crack the code or answer the question correctly to lead them to the hidden surprise! If you want to get really creative (and have the time!), try drawing a map of your hunt for the little ones to use! You can include clues, X’s to mark the spot and trails.
If you want to set up an egg hunt, but don’t want to use chocolate or sweets try small gifts and crafts. Our brand new garden, grow, eat placemat to go is perfect for Spring and is a fun, educational gift for children to learn about fruit and veg, how it grows and when best to eat it! You can also use stickers and sticker books, puzzles, colouring pens or books as alternative Easter gifts. And there are lots of classic, favourite games for the whole family to join in with that can be Easter related, like a bunny hop sack race, an egg and spoon race or pin the tail on the bunny!
