Sports Direct and Nike to launch children’s football initiative Monster Kickabout

• Monster Kickabout encourages children to take up football, as Sports Direct and Nike pledge free equipment, resources, and lesson plans to primary schools across the country
• In partnership with Nike, the Monster Kickabout campaign is supported by top-flight footballers Mason Mount, Demi Stokes, Beth Mead, Keira Walsh, Kenza Dali, Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw, Georgia Stanway and Conor Gallagher
• Taking place from Monday 9th October to Friday 10th November, Monster Kickabout is a month-long activation of fun-filled football activity

Today, Sports retailer Sports Direct announces the return of Monster Kickabout for its third instalment. The nationwide children’s football campaign sees Sports Direct partner with Nike to encourage more kids to take up football, with free resources and football equipment provided to help teachers host a month of football fun. Monster Kickabout aims to put the all back in football, as Sports Direct and Nike join together and help all children, of all genders and all abilities, find their reason to love the game. 

Sports Direct and Nike’s partnership provides teachers and schools across the country with Kickabout Kits, each containing easy-to-execute lesson plans, footballs, Monster Kickabout bibs and more, for both on-pitch and in-classroom learning that inspires the next generation of ballers. Today, teachers and schools are invited to sign up to Monster Kickabout and secure one of the first free Kickabout Kit packs available. Now in its third year, this year’s Monster Kickabout campaign is fronted by footballer Mason Mount,alongside Demi Stokes, Beth Mead, Keira Walsh, Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw, Kenza Dali, Georgia Stanway and Conor Gallagher. Monster Kickabout is part of Sports Direct and Nike’s wider mission to give every child in the UK the right to experience the playful joy of sport and discover new passions while enjoying being active.

To celebrate Monster Kickabout 2023, Sports Direct and Nike have also partnered on a limited edition MKA shirt, which is playable for gamers on FIFA ‘23. Customers can get their hands on the exclusive piece in real life, through in store giveaways throughout the Monster Kickabout programme over October.
