One of the newest kids’ cartoon characters around is proudly launching his two latest books and a brand-new website. Boken, the Little Dog with the Big Heart is a real life, fun-loving Miniature Schnauzer who lives in Spain with his mum Sara Mastriforte and dad Neil Egerton.

Starting with a few videos and two short books they’d written about Boken, Sara and Neil have created a whole world of fun, entertainment and education centred on the escapades of their lovable pet. Boken the cartoon character was launched worldwide in March last year with his own website, two free books as well as his first adventure book.

The books have already been a major success with over 45,000 audiobooks and tens of thousands of ebooks sold since last March - all through self-publishing. Boken’s also an award-winner, with this third book, ‘Boken’s Big Trip to England!’ picking up a Bronze award in the e-Lit awards 2021.

His next two books have just been launched and are even bigger and more adventure-packed. ‘Boken’s Awesome Autumn Adventure!’ Parts 1 and 2 are about Boken’s adventures in Ireland and Spain and have more than 300 illustrations and seven videos to get kids really captivated. They’re available right now as both ebooks and audiobooks from the new website at www.bokenthedog.com as well as all major digital retailers including Amazon, Apple, Nook, Kobo, Scribd and major libraries.

‘Boken’s Awesome Autumn Adventure!’ Part 2 also comes with an amazing extra free book from the website – ‘Boken’s Dream Knight’ using the special code provided in book 5.

New website bigger and better than ever

To accompany the two new books, the Boken team have created a whole new website: https://bokenthedog.com which is much more interactive. The first website was actually a big help to parents all over the world during the global lockdown. Packed with free activities and resources, it kept kids occupied for hours – and gave stressed-out parents a well-earned break.

Boken’s new website has even more to help children have fun, be creative and learn, with blogs, videos, songs, Bokeneer’s Fun page full of free activities, Boken’s Buddies Club and a Pets’ Gallery where kids can upload photos of their pets.

An important addition to the new site is a new page dedicated to helping children deal with bullying. This actually came about because Boken was inundated with messages on his social media pages from kids who desperately needed help with being bullied. The new Nice to be Nice page helps kids identify bullying, tells them what to do and how to stay safe both in the real world and online.

Sara Mastriforte is delighted that Boken can help children in a variety of ways saying, “When we started writing our books, we just wanted to tell the world about the loveable, yet very cheeky, little dog we share our lives with. But as the global pandemic unfolded last year, we decided we could help by adding lots of fun stuff to the site to keep kids involved – and help parents. Now, with the messages we’re receiving from kids about bullying, we want to support children and parents with this issue as well. We always wanted Boken to be fun and engaging, because that’s what he’s like! But we’re thrilled he can help kids and adults too.”
