Looking for a film to watch this weekend?

We have recently started having a Family film night on a Friday night, which we all absolutely love! We get home from school and work, make some snacks and snuggle up on the sofa to end off our week.

We have watched quite a few films so far, today I will be sharing my top 3 films for you to watch with your families this weekend.

Cinderella on Amazon Prime

Now, I’m not normally a fan of musicals and my son said he didn’t want to watch this because it was ‘a girls film’, but we all absolutely LOVED this film! There are lots of funny bits for adults and the cast is really amazing – including James Cordon, Camilla Cabello, Pierce Brosnan and Minnie Driver.

Described as a ‘Modern movie musical with a bold take on the classic fairytale’ on Amazon, it is easily my number one recommendation at the moment.

The soundtrack is brilliant and we have been listening to it on Spotify in the car on repeat ever since! It’s quite a long film, at 1 hour 52 mins, so you need to settle down early for this one, or plan to do it in two sittings (which is what we ended up doing).

Inside out on Disney Plus

This one is a bit of an older film, made in 2015, but it is one of my favourite films.

The story follows an 11 year old girl called Riley who is trying to navigate her way through life, whilst being guided by her emotions. There is an emotional headquarters and we get to learn about the different emotions we have and how they work together to advise up through life.

If you haven’t already seen this I would really really recommend you give it a try.

Disney Cars Trilogy

We must have watched these films over a hundred times! They are such feel good films and are perfect for if you have a car mad child!

Follow lightening McQueen as he transitions from being a superstar race car to a race car trainer, meeting new friends and learning lots of life lessons on the way.

We are always looking for new films to watch, so if you have any family favourites, please do let me know in the comments :)
