Meadowhall announces host of activities to celebrate this Eid

Meadowhall is hosting a whole range of exciting activities this Tuesday (9th April) in celebration of Eid.

Storyteller and magician Arif Javid will be entertaining visitors at the centre with traditional stories of The Genie of Samarkand and Rubiayat of Omar Khayyam, whilst Ghazal musicians will be showcasing their popular South Asian classical music.

Meadowhall will also be hosting Tanoura dancers, who will be sharing the magic of the Egyptian folk dance by spinning to the rhythm of traditional Tawasheeh music.

And Henna artists will be stationed on the Upper High Street from 11am – 2pm, treating shoppers to intricate designs in exchange for a donation to Meadowhall’s charity partner Sincere Support.

Full event timings are:  

  • 11am-2pm: Henna on Upper High Street
  • 11:40am-12:10pm: 1st Storytelling Session (Oasis entrance)
  • 12:15pm-12:45pm: Ghazal musicians
  • 12:50pm-12:55pm: 2nd Storytelling Session (Oasis entrance)
  • 13:00pm-13:30pm: 1st Tanoura Dance Set
  • 13:40pm-13:45pm: Ghazal Musicians
  • 13:50pm-14:20pm: 2nd Tanoura Dance Set
  • 14:30pm-15:00pm: 2rd Storytelling Session
  • 15:00pm: Ghazal Musicians
