From Stressed to Sorted: How Chat GPT Made Revision Easier

How ChatGPT Helped Me Through My Year 10 Exams

As a Year 10 student, getting ready for mock exams can feel really overwhelming. There’s so much to revise, and sometimes it’s hard to even know where to start. But this year, I found something that actually helped me stay on top of it all — ChatGPT.

Getting Practice Questions and Feedback

I started using it when I was revising An Inspector Calls for English. I typed in something like, “Can I have an exam-style question on An Inspector Calls?” and straight away, ChatGPT gave me a question to practise. After I wrote my answer, I asked it to mark it — and it gave really useful feedback. It showed me what I’d done well, but also explained where I could improve, which was something I hadn’t been getting from worksheets or revision guides.

Making Flashcards So Much Easier

One of the best things it helped with was flashcards. Normally, I struggle with knowing what to put on them — what’s actually worth remembering? But with ChatGPT, I could just type in a topic like “media theories” or “key quotes from Macbeth,” and it would give me a clear list. I’d then write the flashcards out myself, which really helped me remember them better.

Explaining Topics in a Way That Actually Makes Sense

Sometimes I’d also ask ChatGPT to explain a topic I didn’t fully understand. It gave really good, clear explanations — way easier to understand than some of the textbooks I’ve used. I would take that information and make neat, colourful revision sheets. Making them look nice made me actually want to keep reading over them, which I did in the weeks leading up to the exams.

Why It Actually Helped

What I found most helpful was how easy it was to get the exact information I needed — quickly. Whether I was revising Science, English, or Media, ChatGPT saved me so much time and helped me focus on the most important things. It even helped me understand the mistakes I was making so I could avoid them next time.

Final Thoughts

Overall, ChatGPT made a real difference to how I studied and how confident I felt going into my exams. It didn’t replace the work — I still had to put the effort in — but it made revision feel a lot more manageable. If you’re a student like me (or even a parent wondering how to help your teen), this is definitely something worth trying.
