🍭 Lego Friends Candy Floss Stand & Scooter – A Real Parent Review

110 pieces | Age 6+ | RRP £8.99

First Impressions

Whilst standing around in the Lego aisle today waiting (patiently-ish) for her Lego-mad brother to choose his next creation, my daughter spotted this cute little Lego Friends set and asked if she could give it a go.

We haven’t really looked much at the Lego Friends range before — mostly because her older brother’s been more into the larger sets — but there were a few cheaper kits on the shelf, including this one for just £8.99, so we thought we’d give it a try.

And I’m so glad we did.

What’s in the Box?

  • A bright and colourful ice cream truck with lots of little details (money, counter, ice cream-making machines)

  • Two female Lego characters

  • A motorbike/scooter that clips onto the truck so it can be pulled along

  • And our favourite – a fun, pink ice cream character with a big personality

It’s only 110 pieces, but loads is going on, and it sparked instant excitement from my daughter before we’d even started building.

What We Loved

💡 Easy to Follow (Independently!)

The instructions were really simple and clear — my 8-year-old daughter was able to follow them completely on her own, which she loved. It gave her such a sense of achievement doing it all without needing help from me or her brother. Equally this was a nice little kit that we could do together.

📦 Small Set, Big Thinking

Even though it’s a smaller kit, the pieces came in three separate bags, which helped a lot. It felt manageable, not overwhelming — and much easier to stay focused and find what you need. A small but very clever touch.

⏳ The Progress Character

One thing my daughter really enjoyed was the little character that moves along the bottom of the instruction pages, showing how far through the build you are. It’s such a simple thing, but she kept pointing it out and saying how fun it was to follow.

🎭 Plenty of Play After Building

Some Lego sets get built once, then just sit on a shelf. But this one really encourages imaginative play afterwards.
She loved the two characters and was especially excited that you could swap their hairstyles (because of course that’s important!). The little van and scooter are perfect for creating stories and games, which is something I really love to see as a parent.

Final Thoughts from a Happy Mum

This little Lego Friends kit was such a hit — and not just because it kept my daughter happy while we waited for her brother! She’s already talking about which one she wants next from the range (my bank balance is slightly less thrilled...).

But honestly, it was lovely to see her getting stuck into something creative and hands-on. At eight, we’re definitely noticing that toys are starting to fade into the background a bit, so I’ll take every moment like this where she’s fully engaged and proud of what she’s built.

Mum Tip!

There were a few extra pieces and the instruction manual we wanted to keep safe, so we popped them in a ziplock sandwich bag and stored them in the box. That way we can rebuild it again another day — which is something we love doing in our house!
