A new children’s footwear brand has launched that offers a sustainable alternative with responsibly made, durable and stylish shoes.

Pip & Henry has a range of shoes that are made with 80% environmentally friendly materials. The shoes have an easy zip up the side, perfect to put on with minimal fuss. Available in four different designs and a variety of colours, they are perfect for eco conscious little ones.

With prices starting at £95.00, these shoes deliver so much more than your regular kids footwear.

The upper and lining is made from organic cotton and the panels are in a natural textile made from waste pineapple leaf fibre, which has the look and feel of leather. The sole is made from recycled Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR) which is lightweight, strong, weather and slip resistant. Designed specifically for small feet, the shoes leave room to move and grow so feet can develop naturally as opposed to conforming to the shape of a shoe.

The shoes are made in small batches in order to avoid mass production and wasting shoes that will never be needed. Instead, Pip & Henry have taken the decision to produce a select range of sizes and plan to grow once they learn more about what their customers need, a more expensive but responsible manufacturing choice from them.

A fun pattern of rockets, planets, moons and stars perfect for an aspiring astronaut. Available in Mulberry or Marine.

Storytime

As well as shoes, founder and mum of one Jeroo Doodhmal has also written a children’s storybook. In this first story, Pip & Henry learn that when people throw out their old shoes, they end up in landfills, leaching horrible chemicals into the ground and causing the forests and animals around them all sorts of pain. Can they think of a solution that is less polluting?

The eco-friendly brand has thought of every detail when it comes to being environmentally sound. Even the packaging, including the shoe boxes and inside stuffing of shoes, are made using 100% recyclable material.

Packaging

If you don’t want to recycle right away, the shoe boxes are designed to be used as a children’s game, ensuring the box continues to deliver value and use long after they are received.

Shoe recycling service

As part of its commitment to environmentally friendly and sustainable production, Pip & Henry offer a free and easy-to-use shoe recycling service for all shoes and in return, you get £10 off your next Pip & Henry order. Just simply put your old shoes (just make sure they are dirt-free and dry!) inside the provided packet, re-seal and drop them off at your local post office. Once your shoes arrive, they are sent on to a partner company who will responsibly strip your old shoes into their component parts and repurpose them for different uses (such as playground surfaces and floor fillers).
