We have been learning about healthy and unhealthy foods, so today I set up a tuff tray to help my little one learn through play.

I got two pieces of paper and wrote ‘healthy’ on one and ‘unhealthy’ on the other, and then I put these sheets onto the tuff tray.

Then I got a good selection of our play food and set that on the tray too. I asked my daughter if she could put all the foods onto the pieces of paper, according to what she thought was healthy or unhealthy.

It also gave us a great opportunity to discuss the different foods and why they might be healthy or unhealthy. In hindsight, it may have been a good idea to have another category, which was in the middle, as we did find there were quite a few foods that could do with being in a middle category.

Will you be giving this activity a try?
