Food sorting activity
We have been learning about healthy and unhealthy foods, so today I set up a tuff tray to help my little one learn through play.
I got two pieces of paper and wrote ‘healthy’ on one and ‘unhealthy’ on the other, and then I put these sheets onto the tuff tray.
Then I got a good selection of our play food and set that on the tray too. I asked my daughter if she could put all the foods onto the pieces of paper, according to what she thought was healthy or unhealthy.
This tray was easy to set up and was a lot of fun to play with. It also gave us a great opportunity to discuss the different foods and why they might be healthy or unhealthy. In hindsight, it may have been a good idea to have another category, which was in the middle, as we did find there were quite a few foods that could do with being in a middle category.
