HEY DUGGEE: SUMMER FUN MIX FEATURING FELIX MARTIN FROM HOT CHIP

BBC Studios Kids & Family and BBC Studios Social is thrilled to announce that Felix Martin from the legendary British electronic pop band Hot Chip has teamed up with the hit preschool brand Hey Duggee to create ‘Hey Duggee: Summer Fun Mix’.

Hot Chip’s Felix Martin, the fifth member of Mercury Music Prize & Grammy Award nominated band,  flexed his innovative DJ skills to curate a refreshing electro-pop remix of a collection of popular Hey Duggee original songs. ‘Hey Duggee: Summer Fun Mix’ is released on Friday 18th on Hey Duggee’s official YouTube channel, which has more than 2.5 billion lifetime views.

‘Hey Duggee: Summer Fun Mix’ spans 30 minutes and includes ‘The Welcome Badge’, which is a very catchy song and two-way language lesson that aims to make Ukrainian refugee families feel at home in the UK. The toe-tapping ‘Getting Ready’, ‘Duggee On The Dancefloor’, ‘The Feelings Song’ and ‘Hey Duggee Birthday’ song also feature, plus many more.

Hey Duggee often rubs shoulders with pop royalty and boasts support from musical legends as varied as The Cure and Orbital (Hey Duggee paid homage to both in the Mixtape Badge episode). Hey Duggee’s relationship with British luminaries Hot Chip stems from the A Capella Badge episode, which paid tribute to the band with an animated quartet of birds called Hot Cheep.

Hot Chip’s Felix Martin’s involvement with ‘Hey Duggee: Summer Fun Mix’ is the latest impressive celebrity collaboration with the Hey Duggee brand. In January 2022, Sir David Attenborough team up with Hey Duggee for ‘The Green Planet Badge’. There was also the ‘The Workout Badges’ series on YouTube in September 2021, fronted by The Body Coach Joe Wicks.

‘Hey Duggee: Summer Fun Mix’ is commissioned and produced by BBC Studios Social, and is part of a wider portfolio of original short-from content commissions from BBC Studios Social, covering diverse genres from nature, science and fact entertainment, to kids, drama, and comedy.

Hey Duggee, is created and produced by Studio AKA with BBC Studios Kids & Family and CBeebies. It was the most streamed CBeebies show on BBC iPlayer in 2022, the third year in a row its topped the list. Brand-new episodes of Hey Duggee series four are expected to air on CBeebies and BBC iPlayer in the autumn.

The hugely successful CBeebies series has also made the leap from screen to stage with the Olivier Award-winning Hey Duggee The Live Theatre Show, and will visit Chester and Swansea for its final tour dates of the summer.
