May has been a month packed with sunshine (well, a bit), family adventures, and some brilliant parenting chats. With half term in full swing, we made the most of the time off — from Cornwall to Crealy, and even a magical mini world in Babbacombe! Here’s everything we’ve been up to this month on The Parenting Daily.

🏖️ A Family Weekend in Cornwall

We kicked off May with a big family getaway to Bodmin Holiday Park — 10 adults, 6 kids, and 3 dogs all bundled into one brilliant weekend! From swimming and late-night games to a muddy but magical walk at Golitha Falls, it was just what we needed.

☀️ May Half Term Fun

Half term always goes by in a blur, but we packed in some brilliant days out:

🏰 Babbacombe Model Village

This was such a lovely day out that we all enjoyed. The kids were fascinated by the tiny scenes and the hilarious details — and us grown-ups were equally impressed by the craftsmanship. There’s something magical about slowing down and spotting all the little details.

🎢 Crealy Adventure Park

Yes, it rained — a lot — but that didn’t stop us having the best time at Crealy! We made full use of their “return within 7 days” offer and went twice in one week. Indoors or out, there’s so much for all ages.

👩‍💻 Trending Parenting Articles This Month

We’ve also had some brilliant conversations on the site lately — here are the top reads:

📚 What We’ve Been Reading

💡 Not a Survival Guide

This isn’t a children’s book — it’s a fantastic read for parents of teens or children approaching the teen years. It’s funny, honest, and surprisingly hopeful. I’m actually looking forward to the teen years now (I know, I can’t believe it either!).

🐱 Spikey and the Caterpillar Sausage Cat

This one’s by Oscar, our 10-year-old reviewer in residence! He’s absolutely loving the Spikey series and has shared his thoughts on this latest book. It’s full of fun, clever animal characters, and the perfect read for confident junior readers.

🌙 The Midnight Gang by David Walliams

We picked this one up because my daughter wanted to wear her PJs to school for World Book Day — and it turned out to be a gem! Heartfelt, hilarious, and filled with the kind of imaginative fun that David Walliams does so well.
