Puttshack London Review: The Ultimate Fun-Filled Family Day Out

If you’ve followed our blog for a while, you’ll know that we’re a bit obsessed with crazy golf. Whether it’s outdoors, indoors, themed, or totally bonkers—we’re always up for the challenge. So imagine our excitement when we stumbled across Puttshack during a recent trip to London!

We were visiting family and had planned to meet at Westfield London. For once, we were early (a small miracle!) so we wandered around to kill some time—and that’s when we spotted Puttshack. Of course, we couldn’t resist.

And let me tell you, this isn’t your average mini golf. This was next-level, high-tech fun from the get-go.

A Whole New Level of Mini Golf Tech

From the moment you arrive, you know this is something different. You start by entering your details on a touchscreen to set up your player profiles and pay. Once that’s done, you collect your clubs and golf balls—which are chipped! Yep, the balls are linked to your player account, so the whole game is automatically scored as you go.

Each tee knows when it’s your turn and lights up green. You get 60 seconds to take your shot (great for stopping any messing around!), and points are awarded or deducted based on your performance. All your scores pop up in real-time on a big screen above the hole, just like a bowling scoreboard.

No paper scorecards, no cheating (ahem!), and no arguments over who got how many shots!

The Courses: Creative, Colourful, and So Much Fun

Puttshack Westfield has four different 9-hole courses, and we were blown away by the creativity in the course design.

There were holes where you had to aim your ball into buckets with different points, others with characters to get past, tunnels to shoot through, and even some bonus targets. There’s also one secret route on each course that guarantees a hole-in-one with bonus points—tricky, but so satisfying if you get it!

We loved that each course was just 9 holes—ideal for younger kids, short attention spans, or if you fancy trying more than one course.

We could easily have spent all afternoon playing them all. Each one looked exciting and different, and you could tell a lot of thought had gone into making them both fun and challenging.

Food, Drinks & More

We didn’t stop for food or drinks this time, but the venue also has a restaurant and bar. It had a great atmosphere and looked like the perfect place to unwind after a game (or two). Whether you’re grabbing a soft drink with the kids or sipping a cocktail with friends, it looks like they’ve got you covered.

Who Would Love Puttshack?

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Families – We’d say kids aged 6+ will absolutely love it. The courses are short enough to keep their attention, and the tech adds a fun twist. It’s a great option for a fun-filled family day out in London.

👧 Teenagers – A brilliant hangout spot for teens. It’s a bit more premium in price, but the vibe is cool, competitive, and ideal for groups of friends.

🥂 Adults – This place would be brilliant for a date night, first date, or evening out with friends. With music, drinks, and plenty of laughs, it’s a great way to do something fun and a bit different.

Final Thoughts

We’ve been to a lot of crazy golf venues, and Puttshack definitely scores near the top of our list. While I do love the old-school pen-and-paper scorecards (and so do the kids—who doesn’t love tallying up scores?), this tech-driven setup added something really fresh to the experience.

Plus, there’s no arguing about scores or waiting ages between turns—the 60-second timer keeps things moving along nicely!

We’ll definitely be hunting out more Puttshack venues to try out—and if you’re in London with kids, teens, or even just looking for a unique date night, we highly recommend giving it a go.
