A heartwarming read about Roz the robot, who crash-lands on a wild island and must learn to live alongside its animals. My son and I were totally hooked — so much so that we’ve already finished book two and ordered book three!
And the film adaptation? Surprisingly brilliant. It doesn’t follow the book exactly, but it had us laughing out loud and got a big thumbs-up from the kids.
Lego Friends Candy Floss Stand & Scooter
A fun and affordable set that’s great for kids aged 6+. We loved how manageable the instructions were and the little progress tracker inside the build guide. A small set with lots of clever design touches!

🎨 Decorate Your Own Golf Balls – A Colourful Way to Get Kids Involved
One of our favourite low-effort, high-fun activities this month was decorating Daddy’s golf balls. I had no idea how many golf balls go missing during a round (or how many hours golfers spend looking for them!), but this little project turned into something surprisingly special — and practical.
We grabbed a handful of old golf balls, some brightly coloured Sharpies, and let the kids loose with their designs. From rainbow swirls to mini monsters and dotty patterns, each ball became a little work of art. Not only was it a lovely creative activity, but it also means the balls are now much easier to spot out on the course. Bonus: My husband said he might actually look a bit harder for them now before giving up!
It’s super simple to set up — just use permanent markers so the designs don’t rub off. We tested a few felt tips too, but they faded quickly and didn’t hold up as well.
You could even pack a few markers to use in the golf cart if you're tagging along to the driving range — it's a great way to keep little ones entertained while still feeling part of the day.
