Letter finding activity for kids
I love having a few worksheet type activities pre prepared for rainy days, or if I need a quick go-to activity. This letter finding activity is one of those kinds of activity and my children always really enjoy it. For my 6 year old it is an activity he is really confident with and it gives him a quick feeling of being able to achieve something. My 4 year old is learning all about her letters, so it’s a bit more of a fun challenge for her.
All you need is some sheets of paper, we cut them into A5 shapes. I then write out a letter of the alphabet on each sheet, in big writing in the centre of the page. I then draw a few different smaller letters around the big letter, ensuring there are about 4 of the main letter mixed in with the others. I then give the sheets to my children and ask them to circle all of the letters that match the main letter on the page. You can see how I did this activity by watching the Youtube Video of it below.
This is a great activity that you can adapt too. We do this with numbers and for my 6-year-old we have done it with the phonics set 1 and 2 sounds and some simple words.
I hope your little ones enjoy it as much as my children have!
